At the Petroleum Accountants Society of the Permian Basin (PASPB), we believe high-quality technical education drives excellence in our profession. Each year, we invite subject-matter experts and industry leaders to present at our monthly meetings and annual Education Day.

Please submit a proposal below if you or someone you know has valuable insights to share with our members in areas like petroleum accounting, land, tax, or regulation. Our Technical Speaker Board Member will review submissions on a rolling basis as we plan our upcoming calendar.

What We're Looking For:

At the Petroleum Accountants Society of the Permian Basin (PASPB), we believe high-quality technical education drives excellence in our profession. Each year, we invite subject-matter experts and industry leaders to present at our monthly luncheons and annual Education Day.

Speaker Expectations

To ensure members receive accredited CPE credit, all presentations must meet NASBA standards:

  • 50 minutes minimum of instructional content (exclusive of Q&A)

  • Slides required to support clarity and engagement

  • 5-10 minutes reserved for Q&A at the end

Content Focus

Presentations should deliver meaningful, applicable knowledge that directly strengthens petroleum accountants in the Permian Basin. We especially welcome topics such as:

  • Updates on IRS, GAAP, or GAAS standards affecting oil & gas

  • Regulatory and legislative changes impacting accountants

  • Case studies and real-world examples translated into accounting terms (cost structures, revenue streams, audit impacts)

  • Technology and efficiency tools (automation, software, AI, data analytics) and their effect on accounting workflows

  • Professional development that builds leadership, compliance, or operational excellence

Value to Members

Speakers should end with 1–2 actionable insights that attendees can apply immediately in their daily work.

Education Day

Our annual Education Day features extended formats (including half-day sessions). If you’d like to be considered, please note your interest when submitting your proposal.
